The Lu's 3D Discovery 2 Instrument Cluster Surround is one of our newest in-house developments, and before we launch it as a full retail product, we're looking for a small group of Discovery 2 owners to help us complete real-world testing.

The CAD design is complete, and we'll be carrying out the final preparation for manufacturing when we return from our production break on 30 October 2026.

Rather than going straight into full production, we're opening a strictly limited 10-place Early Access Programme, split across two testing phases.

This is your opportunity to get the new surround for $100 AUD + shipping, while helping us validate fitment and refine the final production version.

🧪 How the Early Access Programme Works

Our 10 early-access positions will be divided into two phases of testing.

Phase 1 – Initial Fitment Testing

The first group of customers will receive the initial production version. We'll use their feedback to assess real-world fitment, mounting-point alignment and tolerances across different Discovery 2 vehicles.

Once we've received and reviewed the Phase 1 feedback, we'll make any CAD adjustments or refinements we believe are necessary.

Phase 2 – Refined Design Testing

The second group will then receive the updated version incorporating any appropriate changes identified during Phase 1.

Their feedback will help us confirm those refinements and give us another round of real-world validation before moving towards the full retail release.

Once all 10 Early Access places have been allocated, sales of this product will pause while testing and feedback are completed.

💰 Why Only $100 AUD?

The $100 AUD Early Access price is approximately our manufacturing cost.

We're not launching this programme to make a profit on the first 10 units. We're looking for Discovery 2 owners who are happy to work with us and provide the real-world information we need to turn a completed CAD design into a properly validated Lu's 3D product.

In return for your time and feedback, you'll receive the Instrument Cluster Surround at a significantly reduced introductory price.

The $100 Early Access price is exclusive to this testing programme and is not indicative of the eventual retail price.

📦 What You'll Receive

You'll receive one Lu's 3D Discovery 2 Instrument Cluster Surround – Early Access Prototype Edition from your allocated testing phase.

This is a genuine pre-production component, not the final retail release.

The CAD design is complete, but real-world testing may identify areas where tolerances, alignment or fitment could benefit from further refinement.

That's exactly what this programme is designed to establish.

🔧 What We Need From Our Testers

By purchasing one of the 10 Early Access units, we're asking you to actively participate in the development programme.

We'd appreciate the following within 14 days of receiving your surround:

• Your Discovery 2 model year
• Details of any relevant dashboard modifications
• Clear photographs throughout installation and once fitted
• Feedback on overall fitment and alignment
• Feedback on the mounting points
• Any areas that appear too tight, too loose or require adjustment
• Any other observations that could help us improve the final product

We want honest feedback — good or bad. If something isn't quite right, we need to know about it.

Your feedback will directly influence any refinements made before the final retail version is released.

📸 Installation Photographs

Installation photographs are particularly valuable because they allow us to see how the surround fits across different vehicles rather than relying solely on measurements.

We may ask whether you're happy for us to use some of your photographs in future Lu's 3D product listings, social media or other marketing.

We will ask for your permission before using your photographs for marketing purposes.

⚠️ Important – This Is a Prototype Product

Please only purchase this product if you're comfortable participating in a pre-production testing programme.

Although the CAD design is complete, this product has not yet completed our real-world fitment validation process.

Minor adjustments or fitment refinements may still be identified during testing, and early-access customers should be comfortable with the possibility that minor adjustments may be required during installation.

Purchasing an Early Access unit does not mean you're purchasing the final production version that will eventually be offered through our store.

Nothing in this Early Access Programme excludes or limits any rights or remedies you may have under applicable Australian Consumer Law.

🗓️ Production Timeline

Manufacturing will not begin until after 30 October 2026, when we return from our production break.

This is a pre-production programme rather than a normal stocked product, so please do not order expecting immediate dispatch.

Phase 1 units will be manufactured first so we can collect and review the initial round of feedback. Phase 2 will follow after we've had an opportunity to assess Phase 1 and make any appropriate refinements.

We'll keep participating customers updated as the programme progresses.

Once the 10 testing positions have been filled, we'll close orders for this product.

Sales will then remain paused while we complete testing, review the results and prepare the product for its eventual full retail release.
