Made to Order. Made for You.

Your part doesn't come off a warehouse shelf.

Most Lu's 3D products are manufactured specifically for your order, right here in Australia.

💙 What does "Made to Order" actually mean?

Rather than keeping huge quantities of every product sitting on a shelf, most Lu's 3D parts enter our production queue once your order is placed. Your parts are then printed, checked, prepared and packed before heading out the door to you.

How Your Order Comes to Life

From clicking order to opening the parcel, here's what happens behind the scenes.

1

You place your order

Once your order comes through, it joins our production queue. Because we're manufacturing rather than simply picking stock from a warehouse, there can be a little wait before your part reaches a printer.

2

We manufacture your parts

Your order is produced using our in-house 3D printing equipment. Smaller parts can be completed relatively quickly, while some of our larger products can occupy a printer for many hours or consist of numerous individually printed components.

3

We check everything

Once printing is complete, your parts are removed, prepared and checked before they're packed. We want the part arriving at your door to be something we'd be happy fitting to our own vehicle.

4

Packed & on its way

Once your order is ready, it's packed and dispatched. You'll receive your shipping confirmation and tracking information once your parcel has actually left us.

⏱️

How long will my order take?

Our workload changes from week to week, so processing times can vary. During busy periods, please allow up to 3 weeks for your order to be manufactured and dispatched.

We always work to get orders out sooner wherever possible.

📦

Processing vs shipping time

Processing time is the time needed to manufacture, check and prepare your order.

Shipping time begins once your completed order has been handed over to the carrier. These are two separate timeframes, so please keep this in mind when estimating when your order will arrive.

Built for the Job

Different parts have different jobs. That's why we choose the material based on what the finished component actually needs to do.

ASA

A durable, weather and UV-resistant material that's well suited to automotive applications and parts exposed to the Australian climate.

ASA-CF

Carbon-fibre reinforced ASA is used on selected components where additional stiffness and a premium matte finish make it a great fit for the application.

TPU

Flexible TPU is used where a component needs to bend, flex or clip into position rather than behave like a rigid plastic.

A note about 3D printed parts

3D printing builds your part layer by layer. Because of this, you may see subtle layer lines, seams or small surface variations on some components.

These are normal characteristics of the manufacturing process and don't mean your part is defective.

🔧

Why 3D printing?

3D printing allows us to manufacture replacement and upgrade parts in relatively small quantities — including components for ageing vehicles that may be difficult, expensive or sometimes impossible to find new.

Made by a small Australian business

Lu's 3D isn't a giant warehouse full of mass-produced parts. We're a small Australian business focused on creating practical replacement and upgrade parts for vehicles we genuinely care about.

Every order helps us keep developing new products, keep the printers running and keep more old Land Rovers on the road.

Thanks for supporting Lu's 3D 💙

We genuinely appreciate every order and your patience while we make your parts. We'd rather take the time to manufacture your order properly than rush something out the door.
