About Us – Lu’s 3D

Who we are

Lu’s 3D is a small, family‑run 3D‑printing studio based in Port Macquarie, NSW. We design and manufacture custom 3D‑printed parts and accessories for cars and pets. Our products are made to order, so every piece is crafted with care and precision.

How it started

The seeds for Lu’s 3D were planted during a difficult period. Ethan, our founder, was battling depression and anxiety when his psychologist suggested finding a hands‑on hobby to focus his mind. 3D printing quickly became more than a pastime. Learning how to transform digital designs into physical objects helped him channel his creativity and build confidence.

Our first product was born out of necessity. Our dogs’ metal tags kept rusting, so we began printing durable, rust‑resistant tags for them. Friends and family loved them, so we started selling them under the name Lu’s Tags—a tribute to Lewis, a gentle and loving dog who inspired the business. As our printing skills grew, we expanded into designing and printing parts for Ethan’s Land Rover Discovery 2. The response from the 4WD community was overwhelming, and we soon merged our tags and car parts under one brand: Lu’s 3D. We kept Lewis’s spirit in our name as a reminder of the warmth and kindness he brought into our lives.

We’re a team of two: Ethan is the designer and printer, handling orders and customer service. Bree‑Anna works behind the scenes, managing the finances and the day‑to‑day operations. Together we bring dedication, craftsmanship and a love of pets and vehicles to every project.
